| Before and After of TBL Season 14 winner Danni Allen. She lost 121 pounds!
|
Two things really caught my attention during this season:
1. When the show first introduced the contestants, they did not look THAT overweight, at least to me. Maybe that is part of the problem. I see so many overweight/obese people on a regular basis that I do not even recognize what unhealthy looks like anymore. Am I doing the same thing when I look in the mirror at myself? Am I telling myself that I look fine, and this is the "new" average size for American women?
2. This season included three children who would serve as ambassadors to fight childhood obesity. As a woman who has been shopping in the plus size section since I was 12, I can totally relate to this addition to the show. Childhood obesity (along with obesity in general) is a REAL problem right now. And I applaud both TBL writers/producers and those brave young people for making an effort to change not only their lives, but the lives of all of us.

| The "before" shot of TBL season 14 contestants along with the children ambassadors. To me they don't look that bad, especially compared to the size of the contestants on other seasons of the show. |
Now, I hope you don't think I sat on the couch and ate Twinkies while I watched the season unfold. Stay tuned for my next 365 to 13.1 post, where I will reveal my Living Room TV workout. I will tell you, it definitely made my heart pound during the hour that TBL was playing.
What was your original motivation for beginning your journey?
